How to plan the Perfect July Fourth Weekend!
How to Plan the Perfect Fourth of July Weekend
Fourth of July typically conjures up images of fireworks, hamburgers sizzling on the grill and homemade ice cream. But if you like to get out of town, you probably also think of traffic, overcrowded resorts and long lines. With a bit of extra planning, however, you can avoid some hassles and have a pleasant holiday.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Sunglasses
Maps
Travel Guides
Insect Repellents
Sunburn Relief Medication
Sunscreen
Cameras
Maps
Cameras
Step 1
Start thinking (preferably in May or early June) about what you are looking for over the weekend. Is it a secluded wooded spot or a lake busy with water traffic? Either way, the earlier you decide, the better.
Step 2
Buy a travel guide to the area you will be visiting and read it thoroughly.
Step 3
Research the best restaurants, things to see and do, and recreational opportunities at your destination.
Step 4
Plan ahead. Buy tickets, make hotel reservations, secure a camping or picnic site, or anything else you think you'll need, early on. Even if you're planning only a day trip, organize your schedule ahead of time to avoid glitches.
Step 5
Make a list of all of the items you'll need for your weekend, including a map, sunscreen, sunglasses, travel guide, camera and film. Give yourself plenty of time to buy anything you may be missing.
Step 6
Consider toting along your own bike, Rollerblades or any other equipment to save rental fees.
Step 7
Pack your suitcase or backpack a few days before you leave in case you need extra time to purchase any last-minute items.
Step 8
Try to leave for your weekend destination as early as you can to avoid traffic. If possible, set out the night before.
Step 9
Time your return home as early as possible, too, to avoid the holiday weekend traffic crunch.
Tips & Warnings
On holiday weekends, the worst traffic is generally on Friday night and Sunday night, or Monday night, if it's a three-day weekend.
Ask friends for their weekend getaway recommendations.
Take your own fireworks if they're legal in the area you'll be visiting.
When you leave, be sure any pets left at home are secure - they could be frightened by fireworks.

How to Protect Your Money in Case of a Major Blackout
By eHow Personal Finance Editor
Besides saving money by shopping at www.perfectfitgifts.com check out the following:
Major blackouts, such as the New York City blackout of 2003, can pose a special threat to banks and other financial institutions. Here are some tips to help you protect your money.
Thank you ehow.com: http://www.ehow.com/how_1236_protect-money-blackout.html
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Cash
Personal Finances
Step 1
Keep some extra cash on hand in case banks (and ATM machines) are disrupted.
Step 2
Pay your bills early so that they won't be affected by unexpected processing delays.
Step 3
Keep copies of all receipts and financial records for at least 6 months.
Step 4
The FDIC has guaranteed the security of people's money in all major banking institutions. If you feel unsure as to the status of your bank's preparedness, be sure to check with them.
Step 5
If you do not feel secure about having your money in your current bank, you can always transfer your funds to a different bank.
Step 6
Order a copy of your credit report regularly so that you have a record of your credit standing in case a blackout does damage financial records.
Step 7
Make backups of any financial information that you keep on your computer.
Stocks, Bonds and Your Investment Portfolio
Step 1
It is always a good idea to keep your portfolio diversified, with a mixture of very reliable securities (bonds) and more speculative stocks. An overall market downturn is unlikely, but short term instability might occur.
Step 2
It's probably not a good idea to make radical changes in your investment strategy because you're anticipating some kind of disaster. Investing in solid companies for years brings the most stable return on your investment.
Step 3
Beware of investing in companies who might expect to experience a short term increase in stock prices because of blackout hysteria (such as solar power or water filtration companies). Their stocks could fall just as quickly once the panic wears off.

How to Turn Your Yard Into a Wildlife Habitat
By Karen Bridgers, eHow MemberThe National Wildlife Federation administers the Backyard Wildlife Habitat program, which is designed to encourage home owners to create landscapes friendly to both wildlife and the environment. - Step 3
Follow the National Wildlife Federation's suggestions for enhancing your habitat, if needed.
- Step 4
Apply for certification when you feel your yard qualifies as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by filling out a two-page questionnaire and including a rough landscape diagram of your yard and a $15 program enrollment fee.

(20% Off all items at www.PerfectFitGifts.com currently)
Moms will have to make do with less extravagant gifts this year if a recent poll proves right.
The National Retail Federation's 2009 Mother's Day survey of consumer actions and intentions found Americans will spend an average of $123.89 per adult, compared to last year's $138.63.
Total Mother's Day spending is expected to reach $14.1 billion. Last year, the trade group's expectation was $15.8 billion.
Of the four in five Americans who will celebrate Mother's Day, the majority will focus on their mother, stepmother or wife while scaling back on gifts for daughters, friends and godmothers in an effort to save money.
Nearly 67 percent of those surveyed said they will buy flowers for mom, spending a total of $1.9 billion on blooms. About 55 percent plan to treat mom to an outing like dinner or brunch, spending a total of $2.7 billion. Consumers also said they will spend $2.3 billion on jewelry, $1.5 billion on gift cards, $1.2 billion on clothing or accessories and $1.1 million on personal services such as a day at the spa.
Nontraditional Mother's Day gifts will be bought, too, the survey said: $857 million will be spent on electronics or computer-related accessories, $587 million on housewares and gardening tools, and $487 million on books or CDs.
Where is everyone shopping? A third say they will save money by buying from discount stores, while 27 percent said they will go to their favorite department store. The rest will head to specialty merchants such as florists, gift stores and electronics stores. About 18 percent of all shoppers said they will shop online.
The poll of 8,667 consumers was conducted from March 31 to April 7.

PerfectFitGifts.com is on it's Way BACK!
Perfect Fit Gifts, was my third venture into what is known as the world wide web. After creating two unsuccessful websites, I created PerfectFitGifts.com as the website that "vowed" I would keep up with and no matter what keep going. "PFG" is now in it's third comeback, and and I can not place any promises of how far we are going to go in the next month, but I can tell you my goal is to start doing larger business by next year. Goals are all we have in life. A common saying is "shoot for the moon, and land in the stars". I have always tried to put my efforts toward a positive goal, as long as I am puting effort into an adventure, my theory is eventually I will get some where.
Being a good father is a positive goal, if you support your child and daily spend your time towards raising your child, you will be a good father. If you have a job, any job, and you you work towards the positive goal that you can continue to work hard and move up in your industry, then you will. If you are unemployed, have no career path, go to school-education is a positive goal, Within the first two years of school you may not know what in the world you are going to do as a career or in now time what your major is, you are still working towards a positive goal to possibly get an "AA" or "AS", so that when you do answer one of those questions then you could already be half way to completing that positive goal. The only item that might slow you down is negativity.
Negative thoughts and ambitions, get us nowhere but back to where we started. If we halfway work hard daily in our jobs for five years, you will still be in the same position five years later. A company wants leaders with ambition, hard work ethics and positive growth and thoughts. In your relationships, being negative only makes two poeple upset and angry. It creates hostility towards each other, and the relationship will only go in one direction....a negative one. In life being negative at most keeps us at the same stance that we were in before we wanted to achieve more. In health, if you have the belief that you could never lose weight due to geanes, lack of confidence or because "god won't let you", you are all wrong. Poistive thoughts equal positive results.
I learned early to "choose the right" in my ethics but if I chose the right direction when it came to health, school, family, work, I learned that I would be a much better person overall. Much happier, much wealthier and possibly even better looking.
I am not trying to say that I am returning PFG for me to better my life, I mean the site is for you, but I am saying that this does help. I am not Tony Robbins, nor have I ever taken a shrink class, but I have been in some pretty awesome places in my life and all of those were due to positive goals and daily positive reminders that I can acheive what I want in life. We all have taken steps backwards in life at times, sometimes miles backwards but if we stay negative, our life roller coaster will always be in reverse. Stay positive and have fun, I mean that's why we all go to amusement parks anyways right?
